Presidential Service Award

Posted on Tue, May 3, 2016

Reminder - enter your hours for the Presidential Service Awards for 2015-16.  Service hours from May1, 2015-April 30, 2016 will be included.  Hours should be entered by May 15 so I can have time to certify the awards and get the Awards here in time for the June 5 Green and White Awards Celebration.  All registered Girls and Adults can participate and all volunteer hours can be included - even those with other organizations.

Details listed below.

The Princeton Service Unit is a certifying organization for the Presidential Service Awards.  This is open to girls - even Daisies can earn this -, registered adults and leaders.  Each person will need to have their own account to log their hours.  When you set up your account, you will need to enter a birthdate because the hours needed for each award level are determined by age.

Here is a link to the website.

If you have an account from previous years or from another organization don't create a new one.  The website has a customer service team that can help you retrieve your username and password.  If you think you have an account, I can look and see if you are on our list but I can't reset your account or do anything to reactivate it.

For me to see and verify your hours, you need to enter our key as noted below.

You can enter hours you spend volunteering with other organizations (PTA, Churches, Soup Kitchens, etc), not just Girl Scouting.  Hours girls spend doing their Take Action or Award projects can be used as well but not hours completing paperwork.  Leaders and adults can count the hours they spend doing and preparing programs for the girls and the meetings and Training they attend for Girl Scouts.  All hours for Cookie Sales and Treasurer's reports etc. count for adults.

Hours need to be entered by mid -May and they span the full year from May 2015.  You can calculate the total hours you spent on a recurring volunteer activity like planning and holding Troop meetings for that entire year and enter it on a single date to make it easier.

We do the April cutoff so we can order the awards and have them delivered in time for our June end of year celebration - June 5, 4:00 at Mountain Lakes House!

Let me know if you have questions.
